In celebration of the 20th anniversary of acclaimed Japanese songbird Rimi Natsukawa’s (夏川里美) debut, Mode Productions proudly presents her “20th Anniversary Tour – みーふぁいゆー (mīfaiyū)” in Singapore on 20 April 2019, 8PM at [email protected] Singapore!

“mīfaiyū” means "Thank You" in the dialect of the Yaeyama Islands. The tour is thus titled so as to express gratitude to everyone who has supported Rimi Natsukawa in these 20 years. Rimi Natsukawa will be performing with her full band in this tour.

Hailing from Okinawa, Rimi Natsukawa’s unique brand of pop-folk has garnered her the distinction of winning the Japan Gold Disk Awards, for 4 consecutive years. The youngest winner of the “Nagasaki Song Festival” at a record-breaking age of 13, her extraordinary ‘live’ vocals have been described by Japan NHK panels as “The Voice That Emerges Every 40 Years”, touching the hearts of many fans within and outside of Japan.

Fans of Mandarin pop will definitely be familiar with Rimi Natsukawa’s massive hit songs. She is the voice behind the Original Japanese versions of 周华健Emil Chau’s “Flower Heart” 花心 (“Hana”), 蔡淳佳Joi Chua’s “Sunrise” 陪我看日出 (“Nada Sou Sou”), 梁静茹Fish Leong’s “Insomnia” 不想睡 (“Shima Uta”), 王心凌Cyndi Wang’s “Fly” 飞吧 (“Warabigami”) and more!

“Nada Sou Sou” in particular, charted for an overwhelming 6 years, selling close to a million copies. It is also ranked TOP 10 in Japan’s DAM Karaoke chart for songs released between 1994 to 2018. A testimony of its evergreen appeal across generations, and even languages! Korea’s Popular Girl Group Mamamoo leader Solar had also covered “Nada Sou Sou” in Korean and officially released it as a single, which was highly praised by fans. American band Against The Current had also done a rendition of “Nada Sou Sou” in English.

Ever the perfectionist, Rimi Natsukawa often practises local languages in different countries, surprising audience with non-Japanese language performances. Her exquisite interpretations of classics such as 邓丽君Teresa Teng’s Japanese Chart-Topping hits “Toki No Nagare Ni Mi O Makase” (“我只在乎你”), and Kiroro’s “Nagai Aida” (“很爱很爱你”) have all won high praises and accolades from critics and musicians alike.

In her past concert in Singapore, she has thrilled her fans with renditions of popular Mandarin songs such as “Far Away” 千里之外 (周杰伦 Jay Chou), and the evergreen “Moon Represent My Heart” 月亮代表我的心 (邓丽君 Teresa Teng). She also re-interpreted popular Japanese classics like Miyuki Nakajima’s “Ito” to tremendous response. The audience praised her breath-taking ‘live’ vocals and were in awe as they were touched to tears. Some described her concert as an event not to be missed in this lifetime. Expect more surprises during this special 20th Anniversary concert!

Come experience this phenomenal night of mesmerizing vocals by the one and only Rimi Natsukawa as she celebrates her amazing 20 year musical journey. Don’t miss!

VIP packages are available in limited quantity for this concert. Each VIP ticket holder is entitled to premium seat and super rare chance of a Solo Photo with Rimi Natsukawa 夏川里美 after the concert.
