FIRST edition of ART PODium opens at the Arts House from Sept 13-16. A visual art celebration with Masters and Senior artists, from the 19th century till today.

Art PODium brings fine collectors, curators, artists and galleries together on one platform to showcase a comprehensive view of India and the Southeast Asian art, giving a viewer different interpretation of concepts and ideas. Contrary to popular belief, not all art masterworks are held in museums and public galleries. Many of these are being kept in private art collections where only a selected few are able to observe them. We are fortunate to get access to some of these collections at ART PODium.

Hosted at the Arts House a colonial era structure located in the heart of Singapore now claimed as an arts hub.  The objective is to foster a larger community that can help promote the appreciation of art backed by knowledge and expertise, as well as promote new upcoming artists.

ART PODium showcases Masters, Senior and upcoming artists from India and Southeast Asia. On display are works of acclaimed visual artists and it comprises of painting, print and sculptures. The artworks portray stories, which sits between the ‘wholeness experience and creative imagination’. The art value starts from $1000 upwards, and the pricing is modest to suit every one.

Despite the shortage and shrinking inventory of old Master artworks we are fortunate to have a collection to showcase at the ART PODium. The works date back from the 19th century, featuring Sunayani Devi (1875-1962), Jamini Roy (1887-1972), Hemen Mazumdar (1894-1948), Mukul De (1895-1989), Ramkinker Baij (1906-1980), Gopal Ghose (1913–1980), Ganesh Pyne (1937-2013), Bikash Bhattacharya (1940-2006) along with a collection of Early Bengal Oil (late 1900-1930) and Kalighat (1900's). This is by a private collector, and many of the pieces are being shown for the very first time in Singapore.

3. Southeast Asian Art: We have renowned senior artists from Vietnam and Korea.

Its unique feature is that it is a small fair, wherein and most of the Art Works are priced below S $ 20,000. In terms of timing it is designed to coincide with the Singapore FI night race week, the one single event that draws in the maximum number of visitors to Singapore in a calendar year.

We are committed to be sustainable, therefore all invitations and communications will be done digitally.

Kavita Raha, the founder and brainchild behind Art Podium is one of Singapore’s best-known event managers, successfully curating art exhibitions over the past 15 years. She is well known in art circles and is an avid collector herself, having dealt with senior artists and contemporary international masters throughout this period. After running Aicon Art Show, 4 editions of Kala Sutra and Vadera Art show, now presents Art Podium Singapore bringing the contemporary air fair shining the spotlight on 35 Masters and Senior artists from India and Southeast Asia.
